Hi, I am Jocelyn Ong.

Money without mind is not wealth.

I did not join this industry because I loved finance. I joined in 2007 because I wanted to work for myself, on my own hours.

But I had already seen what financial planning does. When my mother passed away, the plan she had put in place carried our family through. It did not take the grief away — nothing does. But it took away the panic. It gave us room to grieve properly, instead of scrambling.

I only understood later what I had walked into. And that is why I am still here — because I have been on the receiving end of the thing I now do for other people.

From the beginning, I approached this with an entrepreneurial mindset. The same year I entered the industry, I founded Jotech Consulting — built on structure, integrity, and long-term relationships, not transactions. As my experience deepened, I co-founded ERA Advisory to give clients somewhere to go for estate and legacy planning, and to train the next generation of planners properly.

Building two businesses was never about growth for its own sake. It was about being able to serve people more completely — and to mentor other planners who believe, the way I do, that this work is about more than products.

That is also why I trained as a Licensed NLP Coach® — so I could actually help people with the part no financial plan touches: the thinking underneath the money. Money without mind is not wealth. Everything I build now — this website, the 4 Pillars, the way I train others — comes back to that one line.
